Pinea

PINEA arises from the purpose of the founders to make a wine at the height of the best in the world. The name was inspired by a beautiful and majestic Pinus Pinea tree, probably one of the largest and oldest in the region, surrounded by old vines that have witnessed centuries of history.

An elegant ensemble of complexity and aromas in which the fruit plays a leading role and beautifully integrated tannin sctructure.

Pinea 2017

The 2017 vintage was characterized by challenging weather conditions. After a very cold winter, the worst April frost in 25 years significantly affected vineyards in the wine regions of northern Spain, southern France and northern Italy. Fortunately, not all of the Pinea vines had budded by the end of April, thanks in part to cooler spring temperatures in the higher elevations of our vineyards. The cooler temperatures in the fall allowed for very slow ripening, and we finally harvested a very small crop by hand in the second half of October to protect the fruit.

Only the highest quality fruit was selected for PINEA. Ultimately, the combination of low yields and careful grape selection resulted in a great concentration of flavors and weapons.

Pinea 2014

Weather conditions were uneventful. As a result, the 2014 harvest was very abundant, which translated into a lot of work in the field to care for and manage the vines and get the best out of their fruit. The quality of the grapes was excellent.

The harvest was carried out in a very meticulous manner. The best bunches were selected and picked by hand from the most outstanding vineyards in our estates and placed in 12kg boxes to be transported to the winery. Once there, on the selection table, a new manual sieving was carried out to keep only the grapes with the greatest potential.

A percentage of the wine is made through integral vinification, where fermentation and aging are carried out in French oak barrels and then incorporate a blend of new French oak barrels according to the needs of the vintage.
